ITO VASE - ŌKAN STUDIO x ELSA HAAS
AN UNPRECEDENTED COLLABORATION
“With the ITO edition, I wanted to surprise, to go there I was not expected. During confinement, pottery was my moment of escape and disconnection. This is when the idea of creating an art object was born.
I met Elsa Haas at Clay Atelier where she gave shooting lessons: I was one of her students! Quickly, I understood that she was going to be the one who was going to give life to my desires for architectural soliflore.”
ITO: THE SOLIFLORE
If ŌKAN jewelery is a sculpture to wear, the ITO soliflore is a sculpture to... pose! Designed to echo the signature curves of the rings, the vase is a real technical feat.
To make the vase, Elsa Haas did many tests before finding the clay and the ideal operating mode. She chose earthenware to allow low temperature firing that respects the shape of the strips, cut and assembled by hand in her workshop in Montreuil.
ART OBJECT TO FLOWER
Ikebana or explosion of colors? The ITO vase lends itself to all styles - from dried flowers.
To inspire you, we asked artist Miyoko Yasumoto and florist Debeaulieu to create several creations. For Miyoko, bouquets designed as veritable sculptures and inspired by ikebana - Japanese floral art. For Debeaulieu, a bouquet that mixes the colors of ŌKAN in an outpouring of flowers.
